“The Voice” Teams Up With Twitter

NBC’s hit new show “The Voice” is certainly making its mark not only in Reality Television but also in the social media world. The show has teamed up with Twitter to get it’s fans, contestants and judges tweeting to raise the shows ratings and it’s definitely working! It sure helps when you’ve got a star line up of judges, like Adam Levine from Maroon 5, hit song maker Cee-Lo Green, pop queen Christina Aguilera and country sensation Blake Shelton. The director of Twitter’s Programming department recently released a statement regarding how Twitter is boosting the buzz:

“For every participant in the process-the show provides engagement in multiple ways: fans at home can tweet their favorite finalists, coaches, producers and the show’s stars can in turn rally the viewers for votes. This kind of closeness, access and insider perspective that Twitter provides combined with a TV show is a really magical connection,” says Chloe Sladden, Twitter’s director. “The Voice has been savvy about it from the get-go.”

In addition, the show has a team that also oversees several Facebook accounts, blogs on NBC’s main website and even posts photos submitted by the shows artists. It seems network producers are doing everything they can to get everybody involved. It’s no wonder “The Voice” has such high ratings!
