Katy Perry is set to make chart history and equal Michael Jackson’s record

Michael Jackson, The King of Pop, held the record for having the most #1 singles off of one album! In 1987, Michael Jackson’s album, “Bad”, had five singles that reached #1 –  “I Just Can’t stop Loving You,” “Bad,” “The Way You Make Me Feel,” “Man in the Mirror” and “Dirty Diana.” This week, a new Queen is expected to tie Jackson’s record.

Katy Perry could be making chart history with her latest single. From the “Teenage Dream” album, “Last Friday Night (T.G.I.F.)” is at number four on the Billboard Hot 100. If it moves forward just three places, as it is expected to, it will join her other four #1 singles “California Gurls,” Teenage Dream,” “Firework” and “E.T.”  This 26 year-old entertainer will be the first female to achieve this in the 52 year history of the Billboard Hot 100 and will equal Michael Jackson’s Hot 100 record of five #1 singles from one album.

With cameo’s from Rebecca Black, Hanson, and Kevin McHale (Glee) and Kenny G, You can watch Perry’s music video for Last Friday Night below.

  1. Katy Perry musically is no MJ. Her music is crappy pop music and why I much rather listen to 80’s pop music which has more originality than anything Perry or her other millenium pop counterparts have out in 2011…
