Make It New live – with Pictureplane, Teengirl Fantasy, and Gatekeeper

On July 20th, our friends Basstown Productions will be throwing a special LIVE edition of Make It New, the popular electronic dance music night hosted weekly at the Middlesex Lounge. This event will feature sets from Pictureplane, Teengirl Fantasy, and Gatekeeper, as well as DJ sets from Volvox and David Day. This 18+ event will begin at 9:00pm on July 20th and end at 1:30am on July 21st at Great Scott in Allston and will celebrate ttechno, electro, and dance music.

Make It New is hosted by Basstown Productions, who specializes in throwing regular arts, entertainment, and nightlife events around the city. Basstown started in 2006 and helped spread the techno virus across the city, fueling a creation of a massive community of DJs and dancefloors in Boston and Cambridge.

Basstown is excited to feature Pictureplane, the stage name for Travis Egedy, whose music can be traced to 90’s house and trance. The Denver native has been spreading his dub since the summer of 2009, and is stopping by Boston on tour promoting his new album Thee Physical.

Teengirl Fantasy is another exciting addition to the event, a group whose track “Cheaters” off of their 7AM album was named the #1 track of 2010 by Fact Magazine. The duo of Logan Takahaski and Nick Weiss are finally hitting boston with their addictive dub-house music, the same material that charmed Crystal Castles audiences when they toured with the band in spring of 2011.

In a whirl of techno, Chicago house, Italo, and industrial, Gatekeeper was created in 2005 by Aaron David Ross and Matthew Arkell. Bound to darken the dancefloor with their experimental spin on the techno scene, Basstown is proud to feature Gatekeeper in this special Make It New event.

They are joined by Make It New resident DJs Volvox and David Day.

This event will be held at Great Scott, which can be located at 1222 Commonwealth Avenue in Allston, Massachusetts. Tickets are only $12 and can be purchased online through
