Remembering 9/11 with Melodies

American Flag

Yesterday marked the 10th anniversary of the September 11th attacks. Over the past decade, thousands of accomplished artists and musicians have composed music to pay tribute to the men and women who lost their lives, and the families who live with those losses. Below are some music videos we collected for your viewing.

Award winning Country singer, Alan Jackson pays tribute with his song “When the World Stopped Turning”

This song was composed by Rev. Anthony Siino, a deacon in the Roman Catholic Church with the Diocese of Paterson, NJ. The song is said to look forward to triumphs than will come about the tragic events of 9/11 rather than somberly looking back.

This is a narrated video with footage from the day of the attack mixed with Blessid Union of Souls song “I Believe”

I Miss you Daddy is a video with a little girl talking to her daddy who died at the WTC. This is not something you will be able to view without a box of tissues so be aware.

Songwriter Kristy Jackson writes a beautiful song about losing a loved one.

Recording artist Paul Simon shares his “Sound of Silence” at Ground Zeros memorial service, yesterday September 11 2011 in NYC.
